Open hardware monitor system :-
The Open Hardware Monitor is a free open source software that monitors temperature sensors, fan speeds, voltages, load and clock speeds of a computer.
The whole computer is a collection of hardware devices and Operating
System also works on hardware. Thus it becomes very important that you
have a monitoring tool to keep an eye on your system hardware so you are
updated about your computer’s health. It is prudent to monitor hardware
devices to check for any hardware issues so that we can take
appropriate steps before an issue becomes critical. Both Windows 7 and
Windows 8 have one small gadget available called CPU Meter which is a
really amazing tool by Microsoft but it is not of much help due its
limited information. CPU Meter Gadget does not offer any detailed
information about CPU and RAM. Moreover, only monitoring CPU and RAM is
not enough to keep your system healthy. But we can use a freeware open source application called Open Hardware Monitor
which lets you monitor temperature sensors, fan speeds, voltages, load
and clock speeds of a computer. Open Hardware Monitor supports most
hardware monitoring chips found on today’s main-boards.
Open Hardware Monitor can show you all the major components’ temperature
like for instance, in my laptop it shows CPU Core temperature, Bus
Speed, CPU Total load with Maximum load, RAM Memory details and Hard
Disk temperature with Used Space details. Open Hardware Monitor supports
monitoring of core temperature sensors of Intel and AMD processors,
sensors of ATI and Nvidia video cards as well as SMART hard drive
temperature. You can view all the details in the main window of this
application and the customizable desktop gadget or in the system tray as
well. To save all the monitoring details, Open Hardware Monitor
supports Save report feature which is available in File menu. It will
save monitoring details in a text file. It is a portable application
which can be run on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and in Windows 8. It supports
both 32bit and 64bit of Windows versions and x86 based Linux operating
systems without installation
